Apple Sends Invites for Next-Gen iPhone Launch Event on September 12

Apple is expected to launch its highly-anticipated flagship phone 'iPhone 8' at the forthcoming event to be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino. The iPhone 8 event is expected to kick off at 10am PST on September 12, wherein the company is touted to unveil two other handsets - iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.

Apple has just rolled out the event invite with the message "Let's meet at our place" without revealing anything specific about the products that will be launched.

However, speculation is rife that apart from the three new smartphones, Apple is expected to unveil the third-gen Apple Watch and a new Apple TV with 4K video playback and HDR support at the event.

iPhone 8 will undoubtedly be the show stopper of Apple's upcoming event wherein we will get to see three new smartphones (including the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus) with an all-glass design and a metallic body construction.

Furthermore, only the iPhone 8 will feature the OLED display with bezel-less front and a notch design akin to Andy Rubin's Essential Phone, while the iPhone 7s variants will mirror the design language of the current-gen iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models. In other words, the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus will feature LCD panels like the previous-gen iPhones.

Prospective iPhone 8 buyers can watch the official live-streaming of the event here starting at 10am PDT on September 12.
