Victims of Hurricane Harvey are in for some good news as Google is offering free replacements for all affected Pixel phones in the tragic incident. Texas witnessed major floods last month following the fury of Hurricane Harvey that left thousands of victims homeless and some dead.
Some of the flood hit victims suffered huge monetary loss to their personal belongings, including some valuable assets like a Google Pixel. The lack of waterproof capability on the Pixel phones has left many fans disappointed and the Hurricane victims with no choice.
However, Google has partnered with a smartphone repair company called 'uBreakiFix' to offer free repairs for all damaged Pixel phones in Hurricane Harvey. All Pixel and Pixel XL owners who suffered the wrath of Hurricane Harvey can now get their phones fixed at one of the uBreakiFix stores in the locations listed below:
Although the repair company has not divulged any info about the terms and conditions of the offer, all those Pixel phones which are beyond repair will get a free motherboard or whole unit replacement.
Here's what the uBreakiFix support team told Android Authority in response to their query on the terms of free repair:
"We are offering motherboard replacements on devices that are beyond economical repair due to liquid damage, etc."
Earlier, Apple had made a similar gesture by offering free repairs to all those devices affected with water or impact damage while evacuating the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
