Nokia 8 owners are in for some exciting news as the flagship phone is officially confirmed to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update. Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global has recently confirmed via Twitter that the 2017 flagship device from Nokia will soon receive the Oreo update.
It is quite heartening to see the Nokia 8 receiving its due update within a month of its launch. However, no such updates have been announced for the other Nokia Android smartphones (Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6) that launched earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Sarvikas has posted a couple of images on his Twitter account, showcasing the beta version of the Oreo update on the Nokia 8. The announcement on Twitter also carries the caption "#Oreo maturing nicely on #Nokia8, will release when perfect, Stay tuned!"
A closer look at the images suggests that the Nokia 8 is running a massive Oreo update weighing around 1.3GB. Although HMD Global has confirmed the arrival of Oreo update for Nokia 8, there is no clear indication or confirmation regarding the exact release time or date for the public version of the update.
It is being speculated that the Oreo update for the other three 2017 Nokia devices will be out, once the Nokia 8 gets Android 8.0.
