Those who saw former Facebook president and Napster co-founder Sean Parker portrayed in seeming perfection by none other than Justin Timberlake as a freewheeling roué in 2010's Academy Award-winning The Social Network might be surprised to learn the 33-year-old billionaire does have a domestic tinge to that notorious edge of his.
For any doubters out there, the proof is in Parker's having married longtime fiancée Alexandra Lenas on Saturday, June 1. And if that's not enough for you, Lenas is also the mother of Parker's new daughter, Winter Victoria, who was born in January. Along with their daughter, Lenas and Parker were joined by 300 guests in a lavish wedding that took place in a beautiful forest with a hint of a Game of Thrones motif, especially thanks to Lenas' cream-colored lace gown that looked straight out of the show's medieval theme.
Guests who attended the Big Sur, Calif. wedding included the varied likes of Sting, Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Emma Watson, Paypal co-founder Peter Thiel and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jacqueline Laurita.
"One of my best friend's daughter married [Parker]," Laurita told US Weekly. "I've known Alexandra since she was in junior high."
Parker's representatives described the wedding as having been set in a "romantic, magical setting," which was confirmed by Laurita.
"Their wedding was the most beautiful, magical wedding I have ever been to or will ever go to in my life," Laurita said. "It was like stepping into a fairy tale. The detail put into this wedding was unbelievable."
Regardless of the "fairy tale" description and photos from the wedding that may make one feel otherwise on first glance, Parker has for some time now preempted any direct allusions to Game of Thrones as regards the décor of his sylvan wedding ceremony.
As ABC News pointed out in its report published on Monday, June 3, Parker took to Twitter as long ago as April 1 to tweet, "This is not a 'theme' wedding, and there will be nothing medieval about it."
Granted, Game of Thrones might be a bone of contention for Parker, but clearly he wasn't totally adverse to the notion of casting a similar spell over at least the fashion sense of the proceedings. He also tweeted that Academy Award-winning costume designer Ngila Dickson would be creating the wares for his ceremony.
Parker referred to Dickson's "unique designs" as "whimsical," which makes sense considering, among other films, Dickson is known for her costume designs for the Lord of the Rings film franchise.
Whether the wedding was inspired by Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings is not nearly as important as the bill, which -- according to a recent report by Fox News -- ended up hitting the $10 million mark, with Parker having to pay an additional $2.5 million for "coastal conservation programs after the Napster co-founder built a large movie-set-like wedding site in an ecologically sensitive area of Big Sur without proper permits."
Those who might be once more flashing back to the obstreperous big-shot played by Timberlake in The Social Network might again be surprised to learn Parker has apparently calmed down now that he's in his thirties.
"Mr. Parker has been extremely cooperative and actively involved to reach this resolution," California Coastal Commission Executive Director Charles Lester said.
