CD Projekt Red's upcoming new title, Cyberpunk 2077, is one of next year's most awaited releases, but since the company's other massive title, The Witcher 3, is finally coming to Nintendo Switch, many fans who own the console are asking whether the new game will also reach Switch.

To answer that, GameSpot interviewed John Mamais, head of Krakow's CD Projekt's office, about Cyberpunk 2077 and whether it will follow the footsteps of The Witcher 3 during PAX Australia where the new title was publicly shown for the first time in the country.

"I guess we'll see, if we decide to put it on the Switch, if we can do it. Probably not," Mamais said.

But, before fans get disappointed, Cyberpunk 2077 hasn't been released yet and there are many things that could happen, with Mamais almost still in disbelief that The Witcher 3 will be on Switch, as it seemed like a dream for many fans of the game that didn't seem possible; so, anything can happen.

Mamais also did not confirm nor deny whether the game will be upgraded for the upcoming next-generation consoles, PlayStation 5 and the new Xbox console.

Dodging the question, the CD Projekt exec simply said that it would be "awesome" and "cool" that these new consoles are launching and that he "can't wait to work on those things."

The developer also said that the more powerful the technology behind the consoles, the better it is for a game developer like him.

So, it's either we'll be seeing Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation 5 and the new Xbox console instead of being only available through backward availability, or that we'll be seeing some new games from the company that will be exclusive on the latest next-gen consoles when they launch.

There weren't any other in-depth details about the new game from The Witcher creators, but according to Metro, Mamais did confirm that there will be no multiplayer modes available when the game is launched.

But, the DLCs for the game will be similar to that of The Witcher 3, which means there won't be any microtransactions, so there will be some free skins and costumes that will be available for every player.

Apart from these details, fans are yet to hear anything regarding post-launch plans for the game.

Mamais did say, however, that if he wanted to do something better, it would be to finish the story much sooner, believing that the sooner the story ends, the better it is for a game's development.

It has been confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on Google Stadia, a cloud-based gaming platform from Google, and will also be released soon, along with a few other titles on the launch, including Red Dead Redemption 2, Final Fantasy XV, and more.

As of now, we will have to wait for CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 to drop for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 2020, as well as for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that is available on Switch October 15.
