We only have a few more days before Apple unveils iOS 7 to the world. The redesigned operating system is expected to lose the current glossy look and feel for a more subtle and flat interface. A designer has created a completely interactive HTML mockup of an iPhone 5S running iOS 7 based on rumors and leaked photos of what he expects the mobile operating system to look and feel like.
The experience begins with choosing what color you would like your iPhone 5S to be, there are choices of black, white, red, blue, pink and orange. Once you've selected your color you can power up the iPhone by clicking the power button or pressing the Home button. You'll be greeted with a redesigned lock screen that looks and feels very familiar; you can even click on the camera icon to try out the camera, which will actually use your computer's webcam in this interactive concept. The main attraction is only a slide away from the lock screen and you'll be presented with the artist's rendition of iOS 7 's home screen. The icons have been given a subtle makeover with their gloss, strong shadows and gradients removed to give all the apps a more flat appearance.
The artist has created iOS 7 app concepts that can be opened with a tap. The Phone app has been redesigned to display the rumored round and black numerical keypad believed to be used in the new OS. The artist has even gone so far as to let you dial numbers as you normally would on an iPhone. The Home button is completely functional and a press of it will bring you back to the home screen. You can tap and try out the redesigned Messaging, Calendar, Camera, Reminders, Notes, Mail, Safari, and Music apps. The apps have all been given a makeover and are using the rumored black and white UI believed to be used throughout iOS 7.
Tapping the status bar will open Notification Center and a new widget has been added to quickly toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Location Services and Airplane Mode. There have been rumors that Apple will be adding this widget to iOS 7's Notification Center.
While we don't know what the look and feel of iOS 7 will be like until Apple demoes it on June 10, the artist provides a very detailed, interactive and fun way to try out his rendition of Apple's redesigned mobile operating system.
