AT&T GoPhone customers do not have to complain that they cannot enjoy the benefits of 4G LTE as, starting June 21, the carried will add Samsung Galaxy Express to its line-up of 4G LTE-capable handsets.
The new AT&T 4G LTE GoPhone service will come in a range of offerings. The most affordable will be a $25 a month package that will give customers unlimited text messaging, 250 minutes of free calls nationwide, and a $5 option to have a 50MB data package.
The mid-tier budget-friendly LTE prepaid plan will cost $40 and will allow consumers to surf the net with a 200MB data limit, 500 minutes of calls, and unlimited texting. Additional 100MB data can be availed for $5.
The $60-dollar GoPhone offer will give AT&T customers 2GB of data, unlimited calling and texting, and an option to get an additional 1GB of data for $10.
"We now have clear choices for customers with more, moderate or less data needs. Customers can add incremental data to their plan if they need to, or they can step up to the next plan," said Mari Melguizo, AT&T spokesperson, in an interview with All Things D.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Express that will lead the pack of AT&T GoPhone devices. Aside from being capable with the 4G LTE network, the Galaxy Express is also equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core chip working with 1GB RAM. It runs on Android Jelly Bean. The said Samsung handset also comes with a five-megapixel main camera, 8GB storage that is expandable to 32GB using a microSD card, and a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display.
"AT&T GoPhone customers can make the most of their smartphones on our fast 4G LTE network, and with our new prepaid plans, they're getting even more value and data at an attractive price," said AT&T Mobility senior vice president of data and voice products Mark Collins in a press release.
"With the addition of the Samsung Galaxy Express, customers get the latest capabilities and speeds from their wireless experience, and we'll be adding more exciting devices to our GoPhone lineup," Collins added.
The Samsung Galaxy Express can be acquired through AT&T retail stores and other GoPhone distributors.
Existing and new consumers who may want to avail of the GoPhone 4G LTE service using a different handset can bring their own 4G LTE-capable smartphones to AT&T.
