The entry-level HTC Desire 200 smartphone has been spotted in a hands-on video prior to its official release. The video of the upcoming HTC smartphone has allegedly been shot in Vietnam
HTC announced the mid-range Desire 600 earlier in May this year and the smartphone is set to launch on June 19 supposedly alongside the HTC Butterfly S. Now, it seems that the Taiwan-based company is looking to add to its Desire line-up of devices and allegedly has a Desire 200 in the works.
A leaked video of the HTC Desire 200 has popped up courtesy of Vietnamese site Thegioididong, which was the first to spot the video of the smartphone's prototype.
The video indicates that the yet-to-be-announced HTC Desire 200 has borrowed design sensibilities from its recently launched sibling, the HTC One. The Desire 200, however, has a more compact form factor when compared to the flagship smartphone's massive screen.
The hands-on video of the HTC Desire 200 reveals that the smartphone will have a 3.5-inch LCD screen with a low resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.
A 1 GHz Snapdragon 200 single-core processor is expected to power the handset. The Desire 200 will be equipped with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, but without flash. The smartphone will also reportedly have 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage, and offer microSD card support for additional memory.
The Desire 200 will likely tout a 1400mAh battery and run on Android 4.0 ICS, as indicated by the leaked video. The smartphone is also tipped to have HTC Sense UI on top.
The video also indicates that the HTC Desire 200 sports an earpiece that bears a resemblance to the HTC One's front speaker grills. The rear of the device reveals that it has Beats Audio branding and resembles that of the HTC Desire C.
