The iOS 7 for the iPad has not been rolled out even to developers and speculations have been mounting on how the overhauled platform will look like on the tablet. Over the weekend, alleged photos of the system running on the iPad leaked on the Internet, and on Tuesday, a YouTube video also surfaced, teasing how the iOS 7 looks like on the iPad.
A certain Rozetked from Russia uploaded the video on YouTube and claimed to have an iPad running on iOS 7. It is not yet clear how the user got hold of the software or if it is a legitimate version of the iOS 7.
Based on the subtitles of the video, Rozetked revealed that he installed an alpha version of the iOS 7. The rough translation said that the operating software works smoothly but there are obvious shortcomings.
"When unlocked, everything looks new and beautiful," Rotzeked said in the video. He pointed out to the absence of the sliding unlock screen, the similarities of clock app to the new iOS 7 on the iPhone, and the lack of a menu at the bottom.
Rozetked also pointed out that he cannot open several apps while other third-party apps, such as a QRReader, work smoothly. The YouTube user also tried to set the language of his iPad to Russian but it did not work. The version of the firmware cannot be viewed, according to Rozetked.
As we reported earlier, Apple focused on the development of the iOS 7 for the iPhone and even pulled out team members developing the OS X.
The video looks legitimate without noticeable editing done to it. The featured operating system on the iPad also looks very similar to the interface of the iPhone and the iPod touch that runs on the Jony Ive-overhauled operating system.
The color schemes, icon designs and other elements seem to be consistent with the updated operating system rolled out for the iPhone.
CNET noticed the swipe feature that gives access to different features when one touches the bottom of the screen just as how it is in an iPhone running on iOS 7.
"The video does look like an accurate representation of what iPad users can expect from iOS7 this fall," 9to5Mac reported.
Whether this is an iPad running on a legitimate iOS 7 or not, it sure is a good preview of what is to come. Apple has so far not released any comment about the video.
