Kisai Intoxicated watch comes with breathalyzer and sobriety test

Too drunk to drive? Find out by using a smartwatch called Kisai Intoxicated created by Tokyoflash, a Japanese watchmaker. The Kisai Intoxicated has a built-in game to test sobriety and breathalyzer to determine the blood alcohol level.

The Kisai Intoxicated displays the time and date in digital format in negative space and by using bold digits that will be very easy to read even when one is drunk. The smartwatch also has an alarm mode.

The built-in breathalyzer is very easy to use. One just needs to open the cap of the sensor and press the alcohol button to start the blood alcohol content test. The user needs to blow into the sensor for five seconds and the Kisai Intoxicated will display the BAC level on screen. If the backlight turns red, it's an indication that the user should watch out as he's drunk.

“The display on the right of the screen shows 10 different levels of blood alcohol content. A green display showing 0.00% means you’re sober. A yellow display showing between 0.41 and 0.60% means you’re buzzing. A red display showing 0.61% or above means you’re drunk,” explained Tokyoflash on its website.

The sobriety test comes in the form of a game where the user needs to stop a line in the center that moves side to side.

The Kisai Intoxicated is crafted form stainless steel and comes with an adjustable strap. It uses a rechargeable battery that needs to be juiced up for three hours. The battery is expected to last for about a month based on average breathalyzer use and has a lifetime of more than 30 charges. The smartwatch can be charged by connecting it to a computer using a USB cable that comes with the package.

The Kisai Intoxicated smartwatch has a cool concept and design but it still cannot guarantee that one can avoid a wrecked car, a broken bone, or ending up in the wrong garage.

Note surprisingly, there's a disclaimer on the website: "Please Note: This watch is designed for entertainment only. The retailer does not warrant that the results obtained from this breathalyzer will be completely accurate or reliable and accepts no liability for consequences arising from its use. Please remember, do not drink and drive under any circumstance."

The smartwatch is selling for $99 until June 21 on Tokyoflash. Interested consumers can also like the page of the Kisai Intoxicated LCD Watch on the Tokyoflash Japan website to get a $4 discount.
