Verizon Wireless has announced it will release the Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE on June 27. Users can get the rugged smartphone online or in stores for $99.99.
The new version of the Casio G'zOne Commando 4 is exclusive to Verizon. Aside from the toughness it can offer, the upgraded smartphone will let users enjoy fast data connections with the 4G LTE network of Verizon.
The $99-deal for the Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE comes after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless.
"Having undergone rigorous military standards testing, the CASIO G'zOne Commando 4G LTE is designed to survive the stresses and strains of everyday life with shock, water and dust resistance capabilities," a press release of Verizon stated.
"To enhance the user's experience while in compromising conditions, the CASIO G'zOne Commando 4G LTE also offers Glove Mode, an interface that allows easy use of key phone features while wearing gloves that otherwise wouldn't be possible," expounded the press statement.
The CASIO G'zOne Commando passed the military standards of toughness. It can survive drops of up to five feet, water immersion of around three feet and the torture from dust, solar radiation, vibration, varying temperatures and humidity.
Aside from durability the Casio G'zOne also comes packed with nice features but this new iteration basically remains the same with the addition of the 4G LTE functionality. It comes with a dual-core processor, a 4-inch WVGA screen, 16GB of storage, and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE is also equipped with an 8-megapixel main camera that can record high-definition video with slow motion feature. It also has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and self-portraits.
The rugged device can also be paired with the GB6900AA G-Shock Watch that is specifically designed to notify users of incoming calls, messages or emails.
The Casio G'zOne smartphone also comes pre-loaded with apps such as the G'zWorld that can record activities like hiking and running on a map. There are also built-in tools for direction, temperature, among others.
