The 2022 Super Bowl has yet to start, but some car companies have already spent millions for 30-second ads to show off their products.
2022 Super Bowl Commercials Are Out Now!
The Super Bowl is undoubtedly one of the most hotly anticipated sporting events every year.
Since numerous American football fans have been eagerly anticipating this big event, several companies are taking this opportunity to advertise their products and share more about themselves.
To explain the advertisement cost for each commercial spot, Sporting News explained that the host for this year's Super Bowl, NBC, did not publicize the official cost. However, NBC Sports Group's Dan Lovinger claimed, according to Sporting News, that the spots were selling swiftly and for upwards of $6.5 million for a 30-second ad.
For this year's advertisement price, it is referred to as most expensive commercial spot in NFL history.
To put it into context, the 2022 Super Bowl commercial ad has a significant 20 percent price increase since the last time NBC hosted the event in 2018. With the aforementioned price, it appears to beat the previous hosts, namely Fox News and CBS, who only have bids as high as $5.6 million.
Despite the fact that it costs a fortune, several types of businesses still bought a spot. For instance, car manufacturers are among those companies that took the opportunity to place their ads for the event.

BMW: Something Electric Is Brewing Ad
According to CNET, Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH (BMW) released a commercial showing Arnold Schwarzenegger in a Zeus costume ordering a macchiato in a cafe.
Schwarzenegger, who was covered in electric shocks, approached the staff correcting his pronunciation of Zeus. As he reached the counter, the cafe staff asked Schwarzenegger if his name was similar with the Greek god of ligthning.
In its follow-up commercial, the former governor of California was joined with Salma Hayek who played the role of Hera. The commercial than showed the two enjoying their retirement period in Palm Springs with an all-electric BMW IX.
Kia: The Robo Dog
The South-Korean car manufacturer appears to capture the heart of numerous people by incorporating a cute robotic dog in its 2022 Super Bowl commercial.
In the said commercial, the robo dog developed a crush on an electric vehicle following it around the city.
Unfortunately, when it was about to reach the electric Kia EV6m the robo dog lost its power. The owner of the said vehicle then went on to re-charge the robo dog using the vehicle.
After the robo dog was re-charged, the owner of the vehicle brought it home.
Nissan: Thrill Driver
The Nissan commercial, which was released in two parts, has similarities with a movie trailer.
In the said commercial, which has been named "Thrill Driver," actor Eugene Levy seems to be followed by people riding on a different types of vehicle. The commercial features not only Levy, but also Dave Bautista, Danai Gurira, and brand spokeswoman Brie Larson.
It also likewise previews the 2023 Z sports vehicle.
GM: Evil Is Back For Good
The General Motors (GM) 2022 Super Bowl advertisement make its viewers feel nostalgic, bringing the Austin Powers franchise from the 90s. It features Mike Myers as Dr. Evil and Rob Lowe as Number Two.
