Many leaks are coming out about a first-ever foldable Google phone! Sources say this device might cost less than Galaxy Z Fold 3 and would be available later this year.
Google smartphones have often demonstrated unique technical hardware, and it seems they are planning something new again for this year. Data miners reveal a plethora of rumors and leaks about a new foldable Pixel phone in development.
Be warned that at the time of writing, Google has yet to acknowledge the rumor. This means there is no official about this smartphone and its specs or release date. So readers are advised to take the following information with a grain of salt and some level of skepticism.
Details are subject to change until Google makes its official announcement.
Google Pixel Fold: Google Notepad
According to data miners, Google is still deciding on what to call this new smartphone. So some sources decided to call this mysterious device "Google Pixel Fold" or "Foldable Google Phone" as its temporary moniker.
However, 9to5Google says that the smartphone's working brand name is actually "Notepad." Google reportedly considered the term "Logbook" too, but the idea was eventually scrapped.
The specific size for Google Pixel Fold is still undetermined. But 9to5Google shared leaks about an "Android 12L assets" which could be the new smartphone's interface.
The photo of this leak suggests the new smartphone will feature a large screen display with an aspect ratio close to 18:9. For reference, this is a share-like shape similar to the Oppo Find N to the Samsung tablets. Sources speculate that if this smartphone folds, it will resemble a standard device.

Google Pixel Fold Specs and Features
Sources from CNET share the specs and features of the Google Pixel Fold. They said the smartphone will have two front-facing 8-megapixel lenses and a 12-megapixel rear camera. Its main senor might rely on Sony's IMX363 sensor, which is a significant downgrade to Pixel 6.
Google probably made this decision to fit the hardware of the sensor, which could be hard to position in a foldable device.
It should be emphasized that given the success of Google Pixel 6 and its unique system-on-chip technology, this feature would also be shared with the incoming smartphones this year. So it's near-certain that Google Pixel Fold will run on the Tensor chipset.
Google Pixel Fold Release Date and Price
Contrary to expectations, data miners emphasize that Google Pixel Fold would cost less than Galaxy Z Fold 3! This means a retail price of less than $1,799. Note that might be Google's pricing strategy to introduce a new foldable in their ecosystem, so more fans can try it if they want.
Display analyst Ross Young, who has a long history of Samsung and Google leaks, announces that Google Pixel fold will start its panel production in "Q3 22." This means the launch can happen anywhere between October to December this year.
