BlackBerry flagship 'Aristo' A10 details and specs leak

Specs and details about the BlackBerry Z10, the company's next flagship, just leaked online, giving some insight into BlackBerry's future plans.

While BlackBerry's last quarterly earning and sales of its BlackBerry 10 smartphones, the Z10 and Q10, were very disappointing, the company still plans to launch a new flagship smartphone.

This year BlackBerry would yet again try and regain some of the market share it lost when Apple and Google entered the smartphone market. The company was betting on the success of its next-generation operating system, BlackBerry 10 to make its comeback. It created a gesture based and intuitive operating system to take on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone, but things aren't quite as simple.

Its first flagship smartphone, the all-touch BlackBerry Z10 debuted with favorable views. The company later followed up with the Q10 smartphone, which featured the company's iconic QWERTY keyboard. Analysts and BlackBerry were claiming that sales of the Z10 and Q10 were strong, leading many to believe the company was on its way to be a formidable player once again in the smartphone world. As it turns out, the company's last earnings revealed this was not the case, and the company reported it only sold 2.7 million BB10 smartphones. It actually sold more of its older-generation smartphones running on the BlackBerry 7 OS.

The company is not ready to give up just yet, however, and it is reportedly planning a new flagship smartphone that is going by the codename 'Aristo' and is expected to officially be called the BlackBerry A10. BGR claims to have learned from trusted sources that the BlackBerry A10 will be marketed as "the most powerful BlackBerry," with a strong focus on power and gaming.

The BlackBerry A10 will reportedly feature a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The smartphone will also pack a dual-core processor and 2GB or RAM to keep things moving very smoothly. The site claims BlackBerry has not been able to make the move to quad-core processors yet due to concerns of battery life and optimization of BB10. The site further notes that the A10 will ship with a silicon structure similar to the one found on the iPhone 5, which allows for a separate CPU and GPU processor.

BGR also claims that the BlackBerry A10's design closely resembles the Galaxy S4. It will reportedly be larger but more round than the Galaxy S4 and "less aggressive-looking than the Z10."

The source confirms previous rumors that the BlackBerry A10 will ship sometime this fall.
