iPhone Hacks: Apple Notes Features You Probably Didn't Know About, How to Use!

Apple Notes on the iPhone has received tremendous upgrades over the years. Here are some of the things users can use on their iPhone's Apple Notes!

Scan Documents

Fax machines have long been gone! Users would not need to put a lot of energy into scanning documents or getting data through photos. Apple users can utilize the Scan feature Apple Notes have.

According to 9to5Mac, iPhone users can scan documents or photos through Apple Notes and incorporate them into their notes.

Select Scan from the camera icon on the toolbar when creating a new note or opening an existing one. Afterwards, users have the option of scanning an item, taking a photo or video, or uploading an existing photo or video.

Users can scan documents by simply tapping on the camera icon and selecting "Scan Documents." To include the item in the note, select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu.

It is necessary for them to position their document material within the frame (one page at a time), and Notes will handle the rest of the process.

Draw and Write

Notes can be an excellent tool for sketching or jotting down ideas. While the iPhone does not support the Apple Pencil, users can still make use of their fingers or a third-party stylus pen to complete tasks.

This feature can be used in either a new or existing note by the user. Select the Apple Pencil from the palette at the bottom of the drawing toolbar by tapping the Drawing icon in the upper-right toolbar.

After tapping the pencil icon at the bottom of the screen, users are presented with six tools: a pencil, highlighter, marker, eraser, lasso tool, and ruler. Users will be able to create and construct visually appealing notes using these tools.

Create Smart Folders

Tags can be used to construct smart folders. These dynamic folders automatically include any notes tagged with a specific tag. On the main Notes screen, hit the folder symbol and choose New Smart Folder.

Users can name their folders and then choose or create tags. A new folder appears with all the notes tagged. When users make new notes with that tag, they are immediately placed in this folder.

Share Notes

Another iPhone Hack in the Apple Notes has the feature of sharing notes with others to allow them to make changes. The Activity View feature, introduced with the iOS 15 update, provides a summary of changes made to a note since the previous time it was opened.

Users can swipe right to view in-depth highlights of the modifications made to the note. It will display edit times and dates, as well as the names of the other participants, which will be color-coded. Users can even tag other users by mentioning them with a "@" symbol.

Users can share notes and folders with other individuals, granting them permission to read and edit the contents of the shared notes and folders. Users can adjust editing rights between Can Make Changes and View Only by tapping on the Share options button.

Change Text Formatting

As reported by PC Mag, it is possible to easily modify the style and formatting of text when creating a note. Users can simply select the text they wish to reformat and click on the "Reformat" button.

By pressing down on the Aa button above the keyboard, users can select a style, apply bold and italics, and other formatting options, as well as create a bulleted or numbered list of items.
