Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 could be available before 2024 ends.
A tweet from a game industry insider and journalist Chris Klippel revealed that Rockstar Games' latest addition to its highly-popular GTA franchise, GTA 6, would be released by late 2024.
GTA 6 Leak Details
According to Klippel's tweet, Rockstar reached a milestone major enough that things in Rockstar should speed up. He also added that a (real) announcement about the game's release date at the end of 2022 could be possible due to the previously mentioned developments.
"Anyway, I don't see the game arriving before the end of 2024!' Klippel said.
Although Klippel's tweet brings hope to GTS 6 hopefuls due to his decent reputation involving leaks on GTA leaks, the information is not an official announcement from Rockstar; take his information with a grain of salt.
Regardless of whether Klippel's information hits the bullseye or not, a late 2024 or early 2025 release is highly probable, according to Games Radar's article.
The article mentioned that gossip about GTA's next installment mentioned that the game's release date will be sometime in 2025. It is also presumably set in a modern-day version of Vice City, the setting of GTA: Vice City.
Games Radar also added that GTA 6's Vice City would expand and change over time. Whether this expansion and change are brought on by player decisions or the storyline or both is still uncertain until the game's release.
Another leaker with a great track record, Tom Henderson also said that GTA 6 would be set in the modern day. Henderson said in a retweeted question that "it's not set in the 1980s and is modern."
Fan's Disappointment with Rockstar
Rockstar Games previously confirmed that GTA 6 is in the works and is "well underway" in its announcement regarding GTA V and GTA Online on Feb. 4.
In its announcement, Rockstar mentioned that it has heard players' inquiries about the next installment in the franchise due to GTA V's "unprecedented longevity." It then added that its goal is to always move beyond what it has previously delivered significantly and that it confirmed that GTA 6 is being developed.
"... we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway," Rockstar Games said. "We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned... for official details."
Despite the good news, Rockstar's fans on Twitter were less than pleased with the company's announcement due to it sounding like it is neglecting another game of theirs, Red Dead Online, for GTA 6.
Twitter user @ClancyChaos commented on Rockstar's release asking why the company is throwing Red Dead Online players away and for GTA 6.
@ClancyChaos isn't alone either. A significant amount of players are less than impressed and are asking Rockstar to save Red Dead Online, the multiplayer counterpart of Red Dead Redemption 2.
