Resident Evil Netflix Series
The live action series adaption of Resident Evil was first announced by Netflix in August 2020. According to the announcement, the story of the adaptation will focus on two timelines.
The first timeline focuses on Jade and Billie Wesker, the daughters of Albert Wesker, the video game franchise's antagonist. The timeline is set in what is being referred to as New Raccoon City.
The second timeline, on the other hand, is set 10 years into the future and focuses on 30-year-old Jade. Netfli describes this timeline as one that has less than 15 million people left but more than six billion monsters on Earth.
The Resident Evil Netflix series stars Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nuñez, among others.
Resident Evil Video Game Franchise
The Resident Evil video game franchise is, without a doubt, one of the most popular survivor horror video game series in history.
Created by Capcom, the first game in the franchise came out in 1996. The most recent release, Resident Evil Village, came out last year.
The franchise has introduced players to some of the genre's most beloved and iconic characters, including Leon Scott Kennedy, sibling duo Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, and of course, Albert Wesker.
It should be noted that Albert Wesker has an illegitimate son in the video game franchise, Jake Muller. The character is one of the protagonists of Resident Evil 6. Whether his story ties in with Albert Wesker's daughters in the Netflix series remains to be seen.
