Ubisoft is planning to reveal around 20 new games in the near future.
People with direct knowledge of the popular game developer's plans mentioned that 20 brand new games were supposed to be announced at a big games showcase event soon but were put on hold due to recent world events, per Xfire.com.
Despite this, Xfire's sources mentioned that these games would eventually be revealed whether in the delayed event or as a separate announcement.
Ubisoft Games To Be Revealed
Starting with the most prominent of the 20 brand-new titles, Assassin's Creed Rift and Assassin's Creed Infinite are expected to be revealed this year, with the former set for release in either late 2022 or early 2023. Currently, there are no reports about the release of the latter Assassin's Creed Game, as it is still in early production. However, XFire mentioned that the game's iconic Animus would play a critical role in the game.
Next is a sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising, which is in its pre-production stage. Although there are no other details revealed aside about the game, it is assumed that Ubisoft Quebec is developing it.
Ubisoft's next title for its The Crew series, The Crew 3, is also expected to be revealed this year. Previously a DLC for its predecessor, the game is now a standalone one that features a new driving engine and other overhauls.
The game could be announced later this year.
Another sequel that is also currently in the works is Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. A sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, the game will feature a different combat system to its predecessor due to the game being a "new take on the tactical genre."
The game is also expected to be released later this year.
Ubisoft is also developing a remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, despite rumors and concerns about the game being shelved or canceled. However, there isn't much information about the game other than it is being jointly developed by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai.
Additionally, the game developer is creating a second Prince of Persia game with its Montpellier studio at the helm. The game was described as a 2.5D game that took inspiration from Ori. Not much is known about the game's release date other than it will be revealed this year.
Speaking of remakes, the developer is also working on a remake of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, which was confirmed in late 2021. The game is still in very early production, Ubisoft could reveal more about it this year.
A game based on James Cameron's Avatar movie called Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will also be one of the games revealed this year. Xfire mentioned that Massive Entertainment sent out playtest invites to external QA recently. Although the playtests, which would begin this week, means that the game is on track for a scheduled release, Early Game reported that one of Ubisoft's Managing Director left the company and that a delay to the Avatar game should be expected.
Ghost Recon Frontline, which will soon be Ubisoft's primary vehicle for NFT usage, will also get a reveal this year. However, the game is expected to be the furthest away from a definite release date out of the three free-to-play first-person shooter (FPS) titles Ubisoft has in development.
One of these FPS games is Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland, which feels "almost ready to release" and could launch in the coming months. Although Ubisoft didn't give a specific release date, it could be revealed when the developer unveils more about the game's details this year.
XDefiant, another free-to-play FPS title from Ubisoft, is currently in QA and could be launched late this year or early 2023.
Ubisoft has managed to get its pirate-based game Skull and Bones out of development hell as it seems the developer now understands what it wants the game to be. It will be a "multiplayer-first" game that focuses on ship combat; combat on land is not yet confirmed at this point. However, that could change when the game is showcased this year.
Another game that suffered in development hell and is expected to be revealed this year is Beyond Good and Evil 2. However, XFire believes that Ubisoft has spent too much in the game to give up on it and has tasked Ubisoft Montpellier to develop the game.
Last is Roller Champions, which Ubisoft quietly delayed according to the game's Discord server. The game was ready for launch, but Ubisoft delayed it for unknown reasons.
The game is expected to be released this year.
Ubisoft Mobile Games in Development
Aside from these games, Ubisoft is also developing four mobile games which will be revealed this year. One of these games is Tom Clancy's The Division Mobile, which was announced in May 2021 and could be released soon, if the developer's roadmap is accurate.
Two other mobile games that are expected to be "major IPs" are expected to be revealed this year. Although XFire's sources didn't mention what these were, XFire speculated that one of these mobile games could be an Assassin's Creed mobile game.
