Clubhouse to Have the Long-Awaited Dark Mode

As per the report of 9to5Mac, Clubhouse, a live audio platform, announced this week that it is finally bringing Dark Mode compatibility to its iOS and Android users, allowing them to utilize the Clubhouse mobile app in a Dark Mode.

Clubhouse said that the Dark Mode will begin rolling out Thursday, April 14.

In an official blog post, Dark Mode was a long-awaited feature for Clubhouse users. The corporation also admitted that it was aware of changes and mockups developed to demonstrate how eager people were for a dark interface option.

Instead of a completely black interface, Clubhouse in Dark Mode will feature a "velvety dark background" with light writing that isn't exactly white. This combination, according to the platform, is meant to make the app comfier for individuals who use it at night.

Users can choose between Always Dark Mode and User Device Settings in the app's settings, with the latter responding to whatever the device is set for at the time, Ad Week reported.

Make sure you have the most recent version of the Clubhouse app loaded on your phone to obtain the Dark Mode feature. Nonetheless, Clubhouse said that it might take "a couple of days" before the Dark Mode feature would be available to everyone.

Clubhouse Also Introduced a New Game Feature

Aside from having a Dark Mode, Clubhouse also introduced a new game feature this week.

The new game feature in the social audio app gives users a card game with instructions to help them start conversations in rooms. The new in-room gaming feature will be available on iOS and Android.

According to TechCrunch, Clubhouse is releasing a game called Wild Cards, in which users are asked a series of questions in order to get to know one another better.

During the game, you might be asked to pitch your finest film or television series concept in 60 seconds or choose a movie that everyone in the group enjoys in three minutes or less. Other questions may require you to reveal the last five items found in your search history or to describe the type of dog that best matches your personality.

While Clubhouse's Wild Cards is currently only available in English, it is expected to expand its language option in the future.

Why Does Clubhouse Introduce New Features After Another?

Because everyone spent more time at home in 2020, and many people worked from home, live audio became a popular choice for content consumption. Since then, its popularity has waned, leaving Clubhouse scrambling to come up with new features to re-engage its users.

As per 9to5Mac's report, Twitter Spaces has grown in popularity as a viable alternative to the social audio app. With the addition of games, Clubhouse should be able to stand apart from Twitter Spaces.
