Players of Horizon Forbidden West will be delighted as Aloy's journey continues!
Horizon Forbidden West creative director Mathijs de Jonge announced that a third sequel of the game is coming.
In a report of IGN Southeast Asia, de Jonge said that just like how Horizon Zero Dawn set up story beats for Horizon Forbidden West, the premise of the third game has been put in place, too.
The new game, according to de Jonge, will end with another big cliffhanger where they have been setting up some things for the next game once again.
Third Game Promises New Storylines
The game director confirmed that the third game promised new storylines and mysteries.
"Horizon is really about mystery. Each of our stories has been about uncovering mysteries in both the old world and the present day, when the game takes place. Indeed, there is plenty of backstory that we can tap into to develop new storylines and create new mysteries from what we've already established," de Jonge said.
He explained that the same thing happened in Forbidden West where the terraform system needing to be repaired can be a good starting point for the story to jump off from.
De Jonge added that they had storylines from the past, from the Old World, that they wanted to tap into. Thus, they had to do a lot of work wanting to evolve Aloy's story arc that just mixed together from there.
Horizon Forbidden West is a 2022 action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The game is a sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, set in a post-apocalyptic version of the Western United States, which has been overrun by a deadly plague.
In the game, the player can explore the open world and complete quests using ranged and melee against hostile machine creatures.

Horizon Forbidden West Release Date Delayed Due to Pandemic
During the Sony's Play Station 5 reveal event in June 2020, Horizon Forbidden West was already announced. The plan release date was 2021.
The Guerrilla Games released a 14-minute PlayStation 5 gameplay demo for the game in Sony's State of Play presentation on May 27, 2021.
