Ghost of Tsushima Receives Its Final Planned Patch

Sucker Punch has released patch 2.18, the latest update for Ghost of Tsushima on April 12. This marks the end of the studio's planned patches for the game.

Patch 2.18 comes with a note from the developer suggesting that this is the end of their active work of patching Ghost of Tsushima. In line with this, Sucker Punch will monitor support channels in case of significant bugs or issues.

"While we aren't actively working on any additional patches at the moment, we will continue to monitor feedback on the community-run [GOTlegends] subreddit and messages sent to @SuckerPunchProd on Twitter for any high priority bugs or issues that emerge. We want to say a huge thank you to the entire community for the incredible amount of support and feedback we've gotten since launch." Sucker Punch published.

What's New in Patch 2.18?

According to PlayStation, Patch 2.18 (2.018.000 on PS5) for Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut and the Legends standalone focused on Legends items changes, bug fixes, and improvements as well as small single-player changes.

For Legends, Patch 2.18 fixed a bug where a teammate's health could momentarily dip below zero, counting as a "death" in Custom Mode and Raid Trials that occasionally prevented the Hidden Heart cosmetic from unlocking.

It added a PS4 Save Import button to Legends standalone builds. Players just have to be sure to click "Yes" on the Legends import prompt.

Playstation.com also posted that the latest patch also allows Shared Wounds to no longer breaks Assassin out of the Vanish skill.

Sucker Punch also added a new Fill Party goal, Custom Mode - Perfect Completion, which allows people looking to earn the Hidden Heart cosmetic to search for matches separately from those looking for a different Custom Mode experience.

There are also items adjustments as all Legendary Katanas gain Stance Master perks by default. Legendary Charms can now roll perks.

Players can also significantly lower resolve gains of Black Powder Bombs as well as Skipping Stone Bow no longer generates extra resolve from the ricochet arrows.

There is an added Munitions perk to Caltrops and Demon Seeds and there is reduced drop rate of Black Powder Bombs, Flash Bombs, Fire Arrows and Piercing Arrows dropped from the Munitions perk.

Patch 2.18 fixed a bug where Black Powder Bombs did not count for some Mastery Challenges. It also fixed a bug where Silver and Gold Survival missions showed incorrect mission modifiers.

The new patch fixed a bug in Survival where a Ghost dying in the brief period after the final wave, but before the scoreboard caused some missing rewards. And it fixed a very rare bug where the Legends tutorial was impossible to complete.

In single player, a dialogue and cutscene issue was also fixed. The New Game Plus merchants have a higher silk inventory.

Sucker Punch Thankful to Community

Sucker Punch is thankful to Ghost of Tsushima gaming community.

According to the developer, when Legends launched in October 2020, they never expected to have such an active community, and they could not be more thankful to everyone who has been with them on the journey.

On July 17, 2020, Ghost of Tsushima was released for PS4. On August 20, 2021, the Director's Cut for PS5 and PS4 followed. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends brought a well-received multiplayer component to the title on October 16, 2020 even if it began as a single-player game.

In a Twitter post of Sucker Punch, a film based on its world is currently in development at Sony Pictures with screenwriter Takashi Doscher and John Wick director Chad Stahelski.
