Between 1913 and 1927, Ford Factories Produced More Than 15 Million Model Ts

Ford accounted for more than half of all registered vehicles in the globe by the early 1920s. More than 15 million Model Ts were built and sold between 1913 and 1927.

Model T is nicknamed 'Tin Lizzie'

Ford said there are several stories about how the Model T got its nickname. The popularity of the female name "Lizzie" during that time period, as well as a famous Model T racecar dubbed Old Liz, are all possible roots. The Model T had numerous nicknames, despite the popularity of Tin Lizzie.

Thousands of Model Ts Were Sold After a Publicity Stunt

According to History.com, a Scottish car dealer proposed challenging his son Henry Alexander Jr. in 1911 to drive a Model T to the summit of the highest mountain in the British Isles at 4,411 feet. Henry Ford, as per NPR, instituted a $5 workday to help keep the workforce stable, and it worked. It's widely assumed that Henry Ford increased salaries in order to grow his market, paying workers enough to buy the automobiles he built.

Model T Originally Has Different Colors Aside From Black

The first Model Ts came in red, blue, green, and gray colors. Because diverse paint jobs slowed down the production line, Henry Ford decided to paint the later Model Ts in an all-black color.
