PlayStation 5 (PS5) game consoles remain elusive despite the semiconductor shortage seemingly improving due to economies worldwide gradually opening after intermittent lockdowns, except in China and other parts of the world.
Although it may be some time until the chip shortage is solved, according to Deloitte per Tech Wire Asia, Sony is still fighting the good fight, with it continuously supplying stores in the US with PS5s whenever they can.
Here's an update on stores blessed with PS5 restocks.
Walmart
According to PlayStation Lifestyle's article, Walmart received a restock of PS5s on April 19. A quick visit to Walmart's official website shows that the console's two variants, the digital-only and the disk version, are still available for purchase. However, it isn't clear if stocks will continue to last past the last few days of April or not, so get them while you can.
If you have a Walmart Plus membership, you could get your PS5 delivered to your place for free.
Amazon
Just like Walmart, Amazon received a fresh stock of PS5s on April 19, but the similarities didn't end there. The PS5 console's two variants are still available on Jeff Bezos' online market since then, and it includes free shipping as well.
However, Amazon's stock of PS5s is fast depleting so get them while you still can.
GameStop
GameStop is a tricky one as a source of PS5s. A report from GameSpot mentioned that the store received a fresh stock of the video game console's two variants on April 23. However, these are only available to customers with an active PowerUP Rewards Pro membership to get your hands on one of them.
It isn't clear if GameStop still has some PS5s left, as it's already been a few days since April 23. If you don't have the stomach for risks, your best bet is to wait for the next restock, as Sony's latest gaming console still flies fast from shelves, or try getting one from the stores on this list.
PS Direct
Sony is also selling its own consoles directly from its website, which is a huge convenience when you have no other option left. According to a report from The Verge, Sony's storefront had a fresh stock of PS5s on April 25 and was open for sale at 4:30 PM ET. However, every PS5 was sold over an hour later, with the digital-only version going out first.
It isn't clear when Sony will have fresh PS5 stocks for purchase.
Target
Tom's Guide mentioned in its article that Target had a restock of PS5s on April 15, much earlier than Walmart and Amazon. However, with the new way the store would handle PS5 restocks, you're better off checking your local Target store online through the store's official website.
Best Buy
Best Buy received a fresh stock of PS5s on April 21. However, if you're looking to buy a PS5 from them, you're fresh out of luck. The console's two variants are sold out since April 22, according to a separate article from Tom's Guide.
