T-Mobile HTC One receives software update but Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean still missing

T-Mobile HTC One has started receiving a software update but customers are still waiting for the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.

The HTC One, which comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, is currently one of the most popular Android smartphones around. However, many HTC One users are eagerly waiting to receive Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update on their handsets as soon as possible.

The latest software update for T-Mobile HTC One weighs 247MB and according to the changelog, post the update, users will find note software stability improvements along with LTE connectivity and reception. The changelog also states that the software update will bring along processor enhancements.

"Beginning July 22, the HTC One (LTE) will have a software update to Android version 4.1.2/ Software 1.27.531.11 via Over-the Air (OTA) and side load. The OTA will continue to be delivered until August 9," per the T-Mobile support page.

Some select International models of the HTC One started receiving Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in mid-June. Select European and Asian destinations have also received the software update on their HTC One. However, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for HTC One has not arrived on any carrier in the U.S.

In India, HTC rolled out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in two updates. Initially, customers received a smaller update of 1.47MB that prepared the device for the Android 4.2.2 update and once this was complete the handset then received the actual update. Similarly, we don't know if T-Mobile is preparing its version of the HTC One with an initial software update and may roll out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean soon.

You can update your device over-the-air (OTA) which will be pushed in phases. Alternatively, users can side load from HTC to Software 1.27.531.11 by connecting your device to your PC and following the steps listed on the HTC website.

Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile have not confirmed the exact dates when they will roll out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to the HTC One. As such, we will have to wait until an official announcement is made by the individual carriers.

However, if you are a T-Mobile customer, have you received the latest software update on your HTC One?
