Genshin Impact's newest update is officially postponed, as confirmed by HoYoverse. The Genshin Impact 2.7 is reported to come before the end of April or the start of May. However, HoYoverse tweeted an announcement last Friday, informing us of the delay due to project progress.
Genshin Impact tweeted, "Dear Travelers, Due to project progress, the Version 2.7 update will be postponed. For detailed information on the date of the new update, content adjustment plan, and compensation, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements."
Genshin Impact Version 2.7 Delay
Genshin Impact's release of the new 2.7 update for May, the famous open-world gacha game, has been postponed until further notice. Originally, the next patch was expected to be released on May 1.
Nevertheless, Hoyoverse hinted through Twitter that the delay they are experiencing is related to project progress. Although the developers did not provide any particular reasons for the delay, it is widely believed that the setbacks are being caused by lockdowns in Shanghai, China.
According to PC Gamer, the city has been reportedly experiencing a massive COVID-19 outbreak once more. The fans were quick enough to connect the dots, as Hoyoverse is publicly known to have a headquarters located in the city. Since the beginning of April, the city has been under heavy lockdown.
Residents who live in Shanghai, where a lockdown affecting 25 million people is entering its fifth week. As countries around the world begin to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, China is suffering its biggest outbreak yet as the final holdout of a strict "Zero-COVID" policy that has been in place since the outbreak began.
As reported by BBC, Chinese authorities are adopting a zero-Covid strategy, in contrast to the policies of many other countries, with the goal of entirely eliminating the virus from the country. Genshin Impact, in a following tweet, apologized to its fans and stated that their team would provide more information as soon as the situation permits, stating, "We will provide the corresponding information to Travelers as soon as possible."
Genshin added, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your support and understanding along this journey."
Genshin Impact Version 2.7: Yelan and Kuki Shinobu
Genshin Impact 2.7 will meet its players with Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. Genshin Impact has revealed the main characters coming to the new update and their art banners since March.
Genshin is well-known for following this release schedule as a means of communicating directly with its committed user base. Just before the release of Genshin Impact 2.6, HoYoverse unveiled the Yelan and Kuki Shinobu art characters on their official Twitter account.
The character Yelan is described as "a mysterious person who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs," according to Genshin. In addition, HoYoverse claimed that "Yelan's identity has always been a mystery. Like a phantom, she often appears in various guises at the center of events, and disappears before the storm stops."
Yelan is a completely new five-star character with the ability to fire a Hydro bow.
On the other hand, another character appearing in the Genshin Impact Version 2.7 is Kuki Shinobu Kuki Shinobuis a four-star female ninja who wields an Electro and a kunoichi to achieve her goals.
Kuki Shinobu's naming convention is the same as that of the majority of Inazuma characters: Kuki is her family name, and Shinobu is her given name, as is the case with the majority of Inazuma characters. Arataki Gang member Shinobu works for Itto and is a member of the Arataki family.
