Google Pixel 6 May 2022 update brings a fix to its weak notification vibration issue. The update also comes to the older devices of the tech giant, the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, which also experience bugs.
Google Pixel 6 May Update
As per a news story by The Verge, the latest flagship smartphone of Google, the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro, have been facing multiple issues since their release.
Although it is to note that Android 12 comes with a few occasional bugs every now and then, the problems on the Google flagship phone have been surprising a lot.
To be fair, Google is constantly rolling out fixes for these issues.
One of the recent bugs on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones breaks its notifications, suddenly making its vibrations dramatically weaker than they should have been.
Users of the Pixel 6 phones have noticed the notification vibrations bug in the latter part of March, saying that the haptic feedback on their mobile devices has become weaker.
It comes after Google rolled out its March update, which ironically was supposed to fix existing bugs on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Instead, users were complaining that it brought a new one.
Pixel 6 Weak Notifications Fixed
So, this time around, Google announced that its May 2022 update for its Pixel phones, including the 6, 6 Pro, 3a, 3a XL, comes with "improvements for haptic feedback."
The Verge noted in its report that some users actually preferred the weaker vibrations on the Pixel phones, which the March update brought to their devices.
However, the news outlet confirmed in its report that after the May 2022 update, the haptic feedback on Pixel smartphones is now stronger than how it was when the March update came out.
So, it turns out that Google might not have intended to weaken the vibrations on the Pixel phones intentionally. The tech giant now describes the stronger haptic feedback as an improvement.
Pixel 3a, 3a XL Last Update
Meanwhile, the giant phone maker also announced that owners of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL should still expect the final update of their phones, according to a recent report by Android Police.
Pixel 3a owners, along with the users of the latest Pixel 6, still received an update from Google earlier today.
So, some 3a and 3a XL users assumed that it might be the last one that they are getting as the three-year support has already concluded.
It comes as the Pixel 3a phones debuted in May 2019. Despite that, Google assures its users that the final update is rolling out in July 2022.
