Google seems all set for the big launch of the next-generation Nexus 7 and even before the tablet has made its official debut it has landed in the hands of a lucky user.
Leaked hardware specifications and images of the next-generation Nexus 7 have been emerging very frequently. Google has a press event scheduled for July 24 where we expect to see the launch of the much-awaited Nexus 7 2 and the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.
A Reddit user posted two pictures of a Nexus tablet which is allegedly the new Nexus 7. The original post has been deleted, but the thread is still accessible. Meanwhile, the new Google-ASUS tablet has also showed up in a Best Buy ad.
"According to an anonymous tipster, the image we have is a Best Buy flyer that is scheduled to run on July 28th (next Sunday), and the flyer clearly says 'available Tuesday', which would be July 30th. The ad also confirms that the 16GB model of the tablet will cost $229, and confirms the display resolution at 1920x1200," reports Phone Arena.
The leaked Best Buy advert will definitely make sense if Google launches the tablet on July 24.
Previously, some users in the U.S. and Canada reported that they have received their pre-ordered HTC One before the actual release date given by the company. However, HTC did announce the handset which was waiting to be released. With the new Nexus 7, Google has not even officially launched the device.
Google launched the original Nexus 7 in collaboration with ASUS back in July 2012. The tablet was the first device to come packed with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The 7-inch tablet was received well by tablet enthusiasts and tech gurus alike. The top-end Nexus 7 has competed well with other handsets in its category as well as the iPad mini launched in Oct. 2012.
We don't know if the leaked pictures of the next-gen Nexus 7 are legit or a hoax. The upcoming Nexus 7 should have improved hardware specifications and with the official launch just around the corner, we can wait a bit more to get the full details of the upcoming tablet.
