Ayaka's fans now have more chances to get her from Genshin Impact's event banner.

Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse recently announced an extension to Kamisato Ayaka's event banner for an undisclosed time, presumably until it can officially complete and launch update 2.7.

Ayaka's banner started on April 19, which is the start of the second phase of Genshin Impact's 2.6 update.

Ayaka Event Banner Extension - Why Was It Extended?

HoYoverse previously announced on its official Twitter account that it postponed Genshin Impact's 2.7 update due to project progress. This delay is probably due to China's zero-COVID policy and quarantine procedures in the city of Shanghai, where HoYoverse's headquarters is located.

China has been battling a surge of COVID-19 Omicron variant cases since March 2022, the BBC reported, with Shanghai being one of the hardest-hit cities in the country; it has been under the Chinese government's strict lockdown since the beginning of April.

HoYoverse apologized to its fans for the delay in a follow-up tweet on Genshin Impact's official Twitter account, stating that it would provide more information as soon as possible.

Based on these events, it is highly probable that we may see update 2.7 as soon as the Chinese government relaxes the quarantine measures in Shanghai. Until then, Genshin Impact can roll for Ayaka and enjoy phase three of its 2.6 update.

According to HoYoverse's announcement, Ayaka's character event banner will continue until an official end date is revealed in a future update.

A quick look at Ayaka's banner in-game will show that the banner's duration shows that it will be up "before Version 2.6 ends," confirming that it will be up until 2.7 arrives.

Additionally, the weapon banner accompanying Ayaka's event character banner, which features the best weapon for her, the Mistsplitter Reforged, is also extended until update 2.7 officially arrives.

PCGamesN reported in its article that Ayaka's banner would last for 240 days. However, it is unclear if this timeframe indicates when update 2.7 will arrive or if HoYoverse arbitrarily chose the number for the banner's duration.

A previous post on the Reddit form r/GenshinLeaks stated that HoYoserve would launch a new character event banner featuring another character as a filler like it previously did with Keqing's event banner rather than extending Ayaka's.

Phase three of Genshin Impact's 2.6 update also comes with a new event called "Spices From the West," which will start from May 14 until June 7. According to HoYoverse's announcement, players will be helping Nazafirin conduct her research by making seasonings according to the recipes provided to obtain rewards such as primogems, Hero's Wit, weapon ascension materials, and Mora.

Based on the event's description, it is highly likely to be similar to the game's previous event, "Of Drink A-Dreaming." However, instead of being featured in Mondstadt or Inazuma, the event will be held in Liyue; the announcement featured a picture of a piece of Aerosiderite, which can only be acquired in one of the domains in Liyue.

Finally, phase 3 of Genshin Impact's 2.6 update will feature another round of the "Overflowing Mastery" event. During the event, you can spend 20 resin to get the amount of character talent ascension materials you normally acquire when you redeem using condensed resin.

The "Overflowing Mastery" event will start on May 22 and would end on May 29.
