Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) price shoots up in Canada by a hefty 2,300 CAD or nearly $2,000 more than its previous cost.
According to a recent report by Tesla North, the Tesla owners in the Canadian region noticed a massive price increase in the FSD upgrade option of the giant EV maker.
Tesla Full Self-Driving Price Increase Canada
Tesla only released its FSD Beta Download in Canada last March 26, 2022, allowing its EV owners in the second largest country in the world to experience its self-driving software.
But the price of upgrading to get the Tesla FSD function now costs more in Canada after the EV maker quietly hiked its price by $1,714.
As a result, the FSD upgrade, which previously cost $10,600, is now at $12,800 or roughly around $9,976.
Tesla North said in its report that a new owner of the Model Y confirmed the price increase of the FSD upgrade.
The new Tesla owner said that the FSD upgrade now costs 12,800 CAD. He even attached a screenshot of the price increase straight from the website of the giant EV maker, showing how much it now costs after it shoots up.
Tesla FSD Price
It is worth noting that the FSD capability in the United States also increased its price tag last Jan. 17, according to a recent report by CleanTechnica.
The CEO and founder of Tesla, Elon Musk, himself confirmed the price hike in the US last January, saying it is increasing to $12,000.
Tesla North said that the tech entrepreneur, Musk, previously revealed as early as Oct. 2020 that the FSD price is set to increase by $2,000. However, the EV maker only initially applied the changes to the US.
As it turns out, the price increase in Canada has been delayed for a few months, but it is now taking effect.
