Motorola will unveil the highly anticipated Moto X on August 1 and new details about the smartphone have leaked just days before its announcement.
The Moto X has certainly dominated the smartphone world before it has even reached consumer's hands. We thought we knew all of its specs and features, but apparently there's more to the story than originally thought. Taylor Wimberly, who has had a great track record with Moto X leaks, has posted new images and details about Motorola's next flagship smartphone.
Taylor has revealed three new features the Moto X will include when it's announced on August 1. First of all, the smartphone will include something called "Moto Magic Glass". He explains that the Moto X will sport a single sheet of Gorilla Glass that has been molded to a special polymer to make a continuous surface that wraps around the entire front and edges of the smartphone. It will also include a zero gap construction, which allows for a smooth and seamless feel around the entire surface of the device. It seems that Motorola has paid special attention to the design of the Moto X to make it feel great in the hand.
The Moto X will also feature a laminated aluminum structure that will allow it to be both very lightweight and incredibly strong. The smartphone will also include Dual LTE MIMO Smart Antennas, which will improve the smartphone's reception and allow for faster data speeds when compared to other devices with a single LTE antenna. The Moto X will include 5 antennas in total: two for 4G LTE and one each for 2G/3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
The Moto X is expected to feature a 4.5-inch Full HD display, run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, pack a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, include 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, a 10-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone will also have Dual 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD expansion slot, and a removable battery. The handset will also be user customizable through different color and designed back plates.
With Aug. 1 just around the corner, official details will soon become available. Until then, take all leaks and rumors with a grain of salt.
