YouTube Music has good news for its listeners!
You can finally listen to your playlist on the go as YouTube Music rolls out a compatible app for Wear OS.
In a user community post, Google announced that YouTube Music is finally a standalone app. This week, the company will start rolling out the ability to stream YouTube Music over LTE and Wi-Fi, as per Gizmodo's report.
All you need is your watch and an internet connection on your trail, and you can access your YouTube Music playlists. You'll no longer need to carry your phone with you.
Access Over 80 Million Songs on YouTube Music Without the Need to Download Them
In a recent community post, Google explained that you will now have access to over 80 million songs and thousands of playlists on the YouTube Music platform, as per TechRadar.
Previously, in order to listen to music, you had to download an entire playlist to your smartwatch.
The app now comes with Smart Downloads as part of the update. Every time your device connects to WiFi, this refreshes downloaded songs. Through this, your music isn't interrupted as it switches connections.
A new YouTube Music tile will be added to Wear OS for quick access to recent playlists or the browsing page. Tiles will work like widgets, wherein you can place them in their own screen space to swipe over to it when you're ready to listen.
In addition, the new and improved software will offer tailored-made playlists according to your song history.
While all of this sounds like great news, there is a pretty big condition attached.
Google said that you must be a YouTube Music Premium subscriber. Otherwise, you can't use these features, and you have to stick with the old method of downloading playlists.
According to TechRadar, Wear OS on iOS supports the WiFi streaming capability but lacks LTE support. There is no statement from Google if or when LTE connectivity will be making its way to iOS.

The Smartwatch App Is the First for YouTube Music
As per Gizmodo report, this standalone version of YouTube Music is the first smartwatch app for the streaming service after it brutally replaced Google Play Music in late 2020.
This new ability has already been pre-announced by Samsung earlier this year for its flagship smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 4.
You'll have access to all of the service's streaming library in addition to premade playlists if you're a YouTube Music Premium subscriber.
Ads are not a problem either. Moreover, the app comes with a Smart Downloads feature to ensure the newest music is synced to your watch any time it's back on WiFi.
You'll have access to the new YouTube Music tile if you're already on a Wear OS smartwatch. It is like a quick-launch remote for any recently played playlists. According to Gizmodo, it'll also allow you to browse the main page of the YouTube Music app from your watch.
