Apparently, we should not let toddlers tinker with our phones.

A mother from Texas now knows better than to leave her phone with her toddler as she ended up paying for 31 McDonald's cheeseburgers. This is after her two-year-old son got a hold of her iPhone and ordered the food via DoorDash.

Texas Mom Went Viral With Her Toddler and 31 McDonald's Cheeseburgers

Kelsey Burkhalter Golden's Facebook post became viral as she tells the story of how her two-year-old son Barrett ordered 31 McDonald's cheeseburgers via DoorDash.

In a Facebook post, Burkhalter Golden recounted the incident on Monday. She posted an image of her son next to the small mountain of cheeseburgers.

Burkhalter Golden even joked that she has "31 free cheeseburgers from McDonald's if anyone is interested."

"Apparently my 2 yr old knows how to order DoorDash," the woman posted.

When requested for a comment, she did not immediately respond. But she got advice from some social media users in the comment section. One social media user suggested giving the burgers to a food bank.

Other Facebook users also shared their personal stories about random purchases made by their young children in the comments.

One user commented that they know a story of a child who ordered the entire NBA league pass.

There was one user who posted that her daughter let her one-and-a-half-year-old baby play with her phone, and the baby ended up clicking on Amazon, ordering three iPhones.

"Kids are too smart when it comes to technology," one user posted.

Another social media user said that Burkhalter Golden should be thankful it's just cheeseburgers her son ordered.

Annie Kathryn, another commenter, posted that to avoid this incident in the future, Burkhalter Golden and other parents can add double click and facial recognition to the DoorDash app.

Oh and we also have an update on the Mom and child. The McDonald's where the 31 cheeseburgers came from invited Barrett for a meet and greet!

How To Keep Your Phone Safe From Accidental In-app Purchases

Apple and Google offer multiple options for parents looking to avoid similar purchases.

Parents who let their kids tinker with their iPhones can require a password for every purchase. Using the Screen Time feature, parents can also turn off in-app purchases entirely.

Another option is the Face ID. For Apple users who want to order DoorDash using Face ID, the steps are simple. Simply set up your Apple Pay by going to settings, then tapping Face ID & Passcode.

You can tap the Buy with Apple Pay button or choose Apple Pay as the payment method when you're ready to order food via the DoorDash app. Then, confirm the payment information, and double-click the side button on the phone. Lastly, wait for the done message and a checkmark to display.

USA Today said that Apple and Family Sharing users also have the "Ask to Buy" option. This lets them approve purchases their kids make.

According to Google, Android users can set up authentication for purchases. Simply open Google Play, tap Settings, then Authentication, then require authentication for purchases.

Through these steps, if toddlers try to make purchases on their parents' phones, they'll have to enter a password or provide biometrics like fingerprints, irises, or facial recognition, said USA Today.
