Ukraine's president and first lady, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife, Olena Zelenska, have given a rare joint interview amidst the difficulties their country is currently facing.
The interview marks the only second time the couple has been seen together since the beginning of the war currently happening in Ukraine. RADA TV has aired the interview and uploaded it online as well.
The Ukrainian first lady gives a rare insight into their family amidst the challenges all of Ukraine is dealing with at present. Among the things she shares is that the family has not seen the president for two and a half months already.
The couple has been married since 2003 and have two children, a daughter and a son, together.
Ukraine's President and First Lady Give Rare Joint Interview
Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has sat down for a rare joint interview with his wife, Olena Zelenska. According to a report by Sky News, the first lady has been staying in a undisclosed location for her safety.
During the interview, which aired on RADA TV, the Ukrainian first lady has given everyone an insight into their family as they and the rest of the country deal with the difficulties of war.
"The family, like all Ukrainian families, is now separated," she says in the interview, according to Sky News.
Zelenska mentions that she has not seen her husband, with whom she shares two children, for two and a half months and even thanks the television program of giving them a chance to spend time together. The first lady says that she and the president talk to each other on the phone when they are apart.
When the program's presenter says that the conflict in their coutnry has taken her husband away from her, Zelenska disagrees. "Nobody takes my husband away from me, not even the war," she replies.
Olena Zelenska has also noted that nothing much has changed since the beginning of the war, saying that he husband has remained reliable. She also says that his point of view has not changed despite the ongoing conflict.
