It comes a few years after Nintendo surprisingly gave fans of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (DP) a rare chance to get their hands on the massive sound library of the sought-after gaming title.

However, the library access turns out to be a short-live project as Nintendo has decided to take it offline abruptly.

As per a news story by Kotaku, the sound library of the Nintendo DS gaming title, Pokemon DP, debuted in February.

The archive includes sounds from the original version of Pokemon DP, which debuted to Nintendo DS players long ago in 2006.

That said, the library lacks the sound effects and music of the more recent remake for the Nintendo Switch, giving it an overall nostalgic experience.

It essentially gives fans of the 2006 game access to a number of sound effects and tunes, which they could download for free. But it is to note that it could only be used on non-commercial content, making it exclusively for personal use.

But after its short three-month run, Nintendo decided to shut down the whole sound library of the 2006 Pokemon gaming title.

According to a recent report by ComicBook.com, the library of nostalgic soundtracks and sound effects is going offline starting at 9:00 am on May 31, which is already less than 24 hours from now, at least as of writing.

The Pokemon Company announced the abrupt shutdown of its special service without giving any reasons for its sudden farewell.

However, the firm behind the iconic Pokemon franchise clarified that fans could still use the tracks from the site for non-commercial use. So, it allows those who downloaded the sound effect or music before the library was shut down to use it for their personal projects still.

"As for the sound data downloaded already, you will be able to continue using it within the scope of the Terms of Use and Guidelines," the website of the sound library states.

It appears that the Pokemon sound library is giving its fans a couple of hours to download all the tracks and effects they might want to keep.

The notice also thanked the folks who supported its three-month run since it was first launched early this year.
