Later this year, we will be seeing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, the latest version of the company's groundbreaking foldable.
Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 proved to be a great, albeit an expensive, flagship. With Samsung trying to outdo itself with its latest foldable entry, what can we expect from its latest flagship?
These past few weeks, there have been constant leaks about the new phone's specs. While we expect it to be a lot sleeker and a little wider, what solid upgrades should we expect? Is it going to be a foldable powerhouse?
What the Latest Leaks Say About Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
Two separate Twitter tipsters, Ice universe and Yogesh Brar, have posted leaked specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4.
Based on the leaks, we can expect a solid upgrade from Samsung's latest flagship this year.
The device is expected to come with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. According to Android Police, the recently-announced SoC offers performance and efficiency boosts over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that ships with the Galaxy S22 lineup, therefore, it'll be a perfect fit for the ultra-premium foldable.
Moreover, we can expect 12GB of RAM, or we might get up to 16GB and up to 512GB of storage. This means that the top-end model is poised to have more RAM than the top-end Z Fold 3, which offered only 12GB of RAM across the board.
We are looking forward to an internal display of 7.6" QXGA+ AMOLED with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and the external one should be an equally smooth panel with a 6.2" size and an HD+ resolution.
The sizes seem to be identical to the ones in the Z Fold3. This seems odd given the rumors that the Z Fold4 should be wider.
But it's not really contradicting as the device could've been widened while also making the display a bit less tall, thus resulting in the same adequate screen size, according to Android Police.
The battery is expected to be a 4,400 mAh cell, with support for up to 25W charging.

Notable Camera Upgrade Expected From Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
When it comes to camera, don't expect S22 Ultra-like shooters but expect a notable camera upgrade.
As mentioned in previous leaks, the Z Fold4 might instead gain a 50MP main sensor like the one in the S22 and S22+ instead of the 12MP camera used in the Z Fold3. This should be aided by a 16MP ultrawide and a 12MP 3X zoom lens.
The two tipsters have contradicting information on the front inner camera. One tipster says that you should expect a 4MP camera like the one in the Z Fold3, but the other one mentions a 16MP instead.
But when it comes to the lens on the outer screen, that should be a 10MP one.
With the constant leaks flooding us online, it's becoming increasingly clear what we can expect from Samsung's next foldable. This might signal that we are nearing the release date.
