Pinned Post Will Ensure that Certain Posts Will Get Noticed

According to Engadget, if you want to start pinning, you simply have to tap on the three dots icon above an individual post. Afterwards, select pin to your profile.

After you pin and you return to your profile, your post will be at the top-left corner of your grid with a white pin icon. Any existing pinned posts will get pushed to the right if you decide to add another post or reel.

Since the beginning of this year, pinned posts have been in the works of Instagram. The feature was first spotted by reverse-engineer Alessandro Paluzzi back in January. Instagram formally announced a test of pinning post in April.

According to The Verge, many users already use story highlights, which appear as bubble-shaped thumbnails that sit below your profile picture, to show off different categories of content. Instagram also use follower count.

The pinned posts is useful for creators for it will ensure that certain posts will get noticed.

Furthermore, Engadget added that the release of grid pinning occur simultaneously with Instagram and Facebook adding new features to Reels.

You can now add interactive stickers to your clips. You can also import your own audio. The length of Reels was also extended by Meta to a maximum of 90 seconds.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri stated that they would make it easier for creators to engage and share their work with fans, as per Engadget report.

It should be noted that Instagram has been seeking further ways to give users control over their profile pages.

Pinning Post Will Give Creators More Flexibility to Express Themselves

According to Instagram, the new feature of the app will give creators more flexibility to express themselves on their profiles.

In April, Instagram confirmed to TechCrunch that it was testing the feature. Starting today, the ability to pin posts is rolling out globally to all users.

"Your profile is your space, so we're looking for more ways to give you control over that experience," said Mosseri in a video posted to his social channels about the new feature, as cited by TechCrunch.

This new feature is useful for users who want to highlight their favorite posts that may have been buried somewhere farther down in their photo grid.

It could also be useful for creators who post frequently but want to highlight a specific post. At present, users have the option to pin Stories to their profile. However, this new feature expands this ability to posts, according to TechCrunch.
