Elon Musk’s Teen Jet Tracker Stops Following Mark Cuban — Are They Friends Now?

Elon Musk's teen jet tracker has finally stopped stalking Mark Cuban's aircraft after the latter reached out to the 19-year-old, who monitors the flight of billionaires, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

The jet tracker, Jack Sweeney, is known for taking down a previous offer from the ultra-rich billionaire, Musk, asking the teen to stop tracking his private jet.

But this time around, it appears that the teenager, Jack Sweeney, has accepted the offer of another mega-rich guy, Cuban.

Teen Jet Tracker and Mark Cuban

It is worth noting that Sweeney set up a Twitter account that goes by the username MCubansJets, which solely tracks the whereabouts of several private planes of the Shark Tank star.

As per a news story by Business Insider, Cuban and the teen have been discussing the Twitter account for roughly four months.

As early as February, the billionaire had already sent a direct message to Sweeney. Cuban privately asked the teen about the safety issues of monitoring private jets.

He further noted that some folks on Twitter might be "irrational and dangerous," pointing out that the family of the 19-year-old teen might be at risk. Cuban further asked the teen what he wanted to end the security risk.

Jack Sweeney's Negotiations with Billionaires

But Sweeney responded to Insider during that timem, saying he is not taking down these jet-tracking Twitter handles without getting anything in return.

The CEO and founder of Tesla, Musk, previously offered the teen $5,000 to stop tracking his jets, but it was not enough.

While the negotiation between Sweeney and the Tesla boss fell short after the teen turned down the offer, Cuban, on the other hand, is off somewhere.

Insider reports that the teen asked Cuban to meet him during the Dallas Mavericks game. And the billionaire is surprisingly up for it.

Meanwhile, according to a recent report by Bloomberg, apart from following Cuban and Musk, the teen jet tracker recently started monitoring the flights of the owner of Facebook and Instagram, no less than Mark Zuckerberg.

It comes despite the multi-million spending of the Facebook founder to maximize the safety of its private-jet flights. Meta has reportedly shelled out a staggering $27 million.

But this time, the Twitter account "Mark Cubans Jets Tracking" has stopped giving updates. The last tweet was way back on April 7. During that day, it still provided a bunch of updates on the whereabouts of the private jet.

Business Insider notes that Cuban has told the teenager in their DMs that "by ending this you have me as a friend for life."

He adds: "someday you may start a business and you would have my help."
