Diablo Immortal Earnings in Two Weeks

The all-new Diablo Immortal has yet to conclude its first month since it first launched. But it is already bringing in millions of dollars, all thanks to the microtransaction spending of its players.

As per a news story by Engadget, the tracking platform Appmagic revealed a few noteworthy figures for the early days of Diablo Immortal, including its estimated earnings and its overall number of downloads.

The estimate claims that the free-to-play game has roughly $24 million in revenue, showing a strong start for Diablo Immortal.

The very reason why the game has instantly amassed millions of dollars, the microtransaction system, is also what its early players have highly criticized.

According to a recent report by IGN, the players of the mobile game loudly complained about the loot boxes of Diablo Immortal, which gives gamers an extremely rare chance to get something noteworthy in return.

In fact, Diablo Immortal has been banned in certain countries, which have already forbidden loot boxes over their gambling laws, such as the Netherlands and Belgium.

Diablo Immortal Spenders

On top of the earning figures, the tracking website also disclosed which countries spent the most on the mobile gaming title.

It turns out that players based in the United States (US) and South Korea are the two top spenders in Diablo Immortal.

The US gamers are second to none, at least in terms of microtransaction spending, taking a 43% slice of the pie in the overall revenue.

Meanwhile, South Korean players brought in 23% of their earnings for the first two weeks. Another Asian territory, Japan, ranks at the third spot with eight percent.

Diablo Immortal Downloads

The report also notes that Diablo Immortal now has a whopping 8.5 million downloads since it was formally released.

It is worth noting that players based in the US took 26% of the downloads, which were also the top spenders on the free-to-play title.

Blizzard's Mobile Gaming Titles

Did you know that the massive gaming firm Blizzard only has two mobile game titles?

Hearthstone used to be its lone smartphone offering. But with the arrival of Diablo Immortal, it has gone down to two.

In context, Engadget notes that Hearthstone only garnered $5 million in earnings last month. On the other hand, the new mobile game of Blizzard generated more than 20 million in its first two weeks.
