LG just launched its 5.2-inch flagship handset, the G2, and T-Mobile has already started a pre-registration page for the handset.
Pre-registration doesn't guarantee you a handset on the release date. However, those who pre-register can get important information pertaining to availability and pricing of the handset, pre-order date and more.
LG launched the G2 on Wednesday, Aug. 7 and the company will hope that the handset is able to make a place for itself in the competitive top-end smartphone space.
"Our definition of innovation today is technology that truly resonates with consumers," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "We have always listened to and learned from consumers in pursuit of innovation. We took these insights to new heights in developing LG G2, the most exciting and ambitious mobile phone in our company's history."
Currently, T-Mobile is offering a number of top-end smartphones to its customers, including the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and the Sony Xperia Z. Customers will be happy to have another high-end device in the carrier's handset portfolio.
The LG G2 sports top-notch features that can compete with any other smartphone in its category. The handset boasts a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 1920 resolution and a pixel density of 423 pixels per inch (ppi). The smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing one.
The handset also includes the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26GHz. The LG G2 has 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB internal storage options and a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone will come pre-loaded with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. However, customers will be hoping to get the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update as soon as possible.
The company confirmed at the smartphone's launch that the LG G2 will be released for over 130 wireless carriers in the next eight weeks starting in South Korea followed by North America, Europe and other key markets. LG did not offer exact release dates for the handset, nor did it mention pricing yet.
