Mojang Pays Tribute to Technoblade

There's an outpour of tributes from fellow streamers and Minecraft content creators with Technoblade's passing away last week after his year-long struggle with cancer.

In the days following his death, there have been countless pieces of fanart posted to Twitter to remember Technoblade.

According to PCGamer, Minecraft studio Mojang also paid its respects to the streamer. The studio had a subtle but important change to the Minecraft Java Edition loading screen.

As a tribute, the Minecraft Java Edition loading page's "previously nondescript pig in the background of the scene is now wearing a crown," as per PCGamer. This appears to be a tribute to Technoblade's famous crowned pig avatar and YouTube icon.

In a tweet, Minecraft also expressed how heartbroken everyone is with the passing away of Technoblade.

"We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly," said Minecraft in a tweet.

Technoblade Bids Goodbye Through a YouTube Video

With more than 13 million subscribers on YouTube, Technoblade was a hugely popular Minecraft streamer. He was a part of the hit server Dream SMP.

Technoblade's father read a message from the streamer in a YouTube video published last Thursday. He talked about the work that Technoblade had done into making the final video as he was struggling with cancer. The video has more than 54 million views as of writing.

With "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this, I am dead," Technoblade opened his video. He expressed gratitude to his fans and told them that he appreciates them. He thanked them for their support for the past years.

Technoblade, whose real name is Alex, said that if "he had an additional 100 lives, he would always choose to be Technoblade since they were the best years of his life," as per an iTechPost report.

He also expressed his apology in the YouTube video for the number of items he has sold over the last year. But according to him, this ensured that his siblings will be able to attend college.

According to his father, a screenplay was prepared by the YouTuber for his farewell video. He done this while lying in bed then he passed away soon after.

Although most of what Technoblade's wanted to say wasn't covered, his father believes the important aspects were told. After he completed the video, he only survived for another eight hours or so.

A letter from Technoblade's family to his internet friends and supporters accompanied the video. The message at the conclusion of the video expressed that his family wanted everyone to know how much Technoblade valued his fans and colleagues.
