Samsung ATIV S Neo official specifications appear on the company’s website

Previous reports indicated that the ATIV S Neo smartphone will launch on Sprint and now Samsung has published full details of the handset on its website.

Sprint has already announced that it will carry the the ATIV S Neo and speculations suggest that the handset will be available on the carrier from Aug. 16 onwards. However, Sprint has not confirmed an official release date for the handset.

"We know our customers are anxious to get their hands on these Windows Phone 8 smartphones, HTC 8XT and ATIV S Neo," said Fared Adib, senior vice president-Product Development, Sprint. "Without a doubt, they will rival any smartphone on the market today. Our customers will appreciate being able to use them all day, every day without worrying about overages or data caps."

With full specifications revealed on Samsung's official website it seems that the handset will launch on the Aug. 16. Sprint has already released the HTC 8XT on its network and the ATIV S Neo will be the second WP8 handset to join the carrier's lineup.

The demand for WP8 smartphones has accelerated in the recent months. Not many OEMs manufacture WP8 smartphones and Samsung has just a handful of WP8 smartphones on offer. Nokia is definitely the most popular WP8 handset maker around and the Finnish company has an array of entry-level to top-end smartphones to suit various needs and preferences.

Sprint customers, however, will likely be happy to get another WP8-powered handset from the carrier.

The Samsung ATIV S Neo sports a 4.77-inch LCD screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. A dual-core 1.4GHz processor powers the handset, along with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also includes 16GB of internal storage with the option to expand the memory further to 64GB via a microSD card. The ATIV S Neo is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter. A 2,000mAh battery fuels the handset.

The HTC 8XT has a price tag of $99.99 on a new two-year contract or eligible upgrades. Sprint previously announced that the ATIV S Neo will be priced at $149.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade, two-year service agreement and $50 mail-in rebate via reward card.
