Over the years since it was launched in 2009, the messaging platform continues to add new features and improve the user experiences. This year, these are new features that you should look forward in WhatsApp.
1. Editing Text Message
According to TechViral, WhatsApp is working on "giving the ability to edit your send messages in a limited span." There will be a tag of edit like deleted message banner.
While there is no official clarification about this feature yet, the editing text message feature was spotted in the beta version. Thus, we can soon expect it to be available for Android and iOS.
2. Instagram Reels on WhatsApp
Going forward, expect to have Instagram Reels in WhatsApp. According to 91mobiles, "the feature will reportedly allow users to watch Instagram Reels directly from the messaging app."
The inclusion of Instagram Reels in WhatsApp could be a part of WhatsApp's "integration plan with other Facebook-owned apps." Instagram Reels is the short video feature. Last year, tt was added to the picture-sharing app.

3. Status Reply Indicator
The status reply indicator is more interesting than others because when someone sends you a reply on your WhatsApp Status, it can show your status replies indicator straight outside the chat section.
An indicator will show a little icon of the status on the first. However, currently, this feature is seen only in the WhatsApp beta version for iOS. It expected to be available in the Android beta as well.
4. WhatsApp logout
Soon, 'Delete Account' will be replaced by WhatsApp logout. The new feature will also support the upcoming multi-device feature. According to TechViral, WaBetaInfo reported that the app will finally bring in a logout option for its users.
The WhatsApp logout feature will allow users to log out of WhatsApp accounts from their devices. This is the same feature available in Facebook and other social networking apps. Recently seen on the new beta version of WhatsApp, the new feature is expected to roll out to both iOS and Android versions of the app soon.
5. Hide Your Active Status
A new feature was revealed in the beta version of WhatsApp on iOS. The new feature allows you to hide your active status on the app. This simply means that only selected people will know when you're active.
"You can hide your active status in the options such as Nobody, My Contacts, and My Contacts Expect, and you can find this option in the privacy settings combined with last-seen hiding options," as per TechViral.
