Skyrim's latest multiplayer mod is a success... mostly.
Skyrim Together reborn, the popular multiplayer mod for Bethesda's Skyrim, has accumulated over 50,000 downloads on its weekend debut, and despite the problems it has, it is still functioning as intended, per Kotaku.
Skyrim Together Reborn was released as a full mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim last week, according to a Reddit post by u/toleressea.
Skyrim Together Reborn Success And Problems
Skrim Together Reborn was released on July 8 as a full mod for Skyrim. It allowed two to eight players to play Skyrim together cooperatively online, a feat that is impossible to do in-game without mods.
You may remember that Skyrim was an exclusively single-player game when it was released on November 11, 2011.
The mod was found to be a success, with it garnering over 50,000 downloads on its weekend debut, according to Eurogamer.
However, while it does enable gamers to play cooperatively together online, the mod still has rough spots that need attention.
A Reddit thread under the r/PCgaming subreddit mentioned that the mod has yet to have player markers, and some animations, such as walking, don't sync properly, while running does.
Additionally, physics items would slide away sometimes all at once in a single direction, and only the host could cause a quest to progress, or the game would desync if that didn't happen.
The game will also crash when loading new zones if the game's FPS cap isn't locked to 60 fps.

Furthermore, enemy NPCs mostly target the party leader due to them being the session host, and enemies often stay alive even after their HP has been brought down to zero. However, when they do, they turn invincible, drop their weapons, run away, and would eventually fall dead minutes later.
Items are also found to randomly slide around, while Skyrim's survival mode doesn't function since sleeping to make time pass is disabled.
Enabling player vs. player mode is also not recommended as animations and player hitboxes are messy.
Finally, there is a fair chance of the game crashing when the mod is enabled.
Despite these problems, Skyrim players unanimously agree that the mod unlocks more ways to have fun in the game. Even though there are some problems with it, most players don't find them hard to live with.
The mod's developers, The Together Team, have yet to release a statement about the game's problems and their plans to fix them, per the mod's Nexus Mods page.
How To Install Skyrim Together Reborn
To properly install Skyrim Together Reborn, you will first need a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2, and Address Library, per the mod's Wiki.
The mod also requires the All-in-one (Anniversary Edition) version and the base Skyrim game updated to 1.6 on Steam.
Once you have all of these, you can download the mod from its Nexus Mod page. Afterward, install the mod on your computer.
When the mod's installation is done and enabled on your mod organizer, you can find SkyrimTogether.exe in your Skyrim game folder, which can be found at Data/SkyrimTogetherReborn/SkyrimTogether.exe.
This executable file is your key to playing the game, so if you want to create a shortcut for the mod, use this as your base.
When you launch the mod for the first time, it will most likely ask you to find the base game's executable file. If this happens, and you do not know where it is, go to Steam, right-click The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, click "Manage" and click "Browse local files."
Once that's done, cope the location of the executable file over to the prompt.
