LOUD, XERXIA Have Been Eliminated From Masters Copenhagen

The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Masters Copenhagen has taken its first two victims.

Former Masters Reykjavik finalist LOUD and Thai-based eSports team XERXIA have been eliminated from the competition after their respective losses against their opponents during its qualifying events, per Dot Esports.

The VCT Masters Copenhagen tournament has been going on for quite some time; it started on July 10 and will continue until the grand finals, which are scheduled on July 24, per AFK Gaming.

LOUD vs. OpTic Gaming Match Recap

LOUD reportedly faced off against American professional eSports team OpTic Gaming, initially gaining the upper hand on their map pick of Ascent on a 13-8 win.

The Brazilian eSports team then took another win during the series' second stanza, with Erick "aspas" Santos leading the charge with 24 kills and ten deaths, giving him a 300 average combat score (ACS).

However, OpTic got the upper hand against LOUD on their map pick of Fracture, a map that fast became OpTic's favorite map. Thanks to this advantage, OpTic was able to defeat LOUD with a 13-8 win of their own. This time, OpTic's Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen broke through LOUD's attack with a headshot percentage of 33 and an ACS of 314.

The winner was decided during the third match, which was played on the Split map, per Nerd Street.

During this match, LOUD initially took the advantage after a 7-5 win against OpTic in the match's first half. They would continue to hold their advantage for a few more rounds, but OpTic was able to rally and managed to claw their way to a victory, defeating LOUD in an overtime match of 14-12.

OpTic Gaming head coach Chat Singh credited LOUD for their improvements from their previous match in Reykjavik, noting that they had "a different dimension," and that they weren't relying too much on rehitting.

"Their just straight-up hits were very good," Singh said.

XERXIA vs. NORTHEPTION Match Recap

While LOUD was the second eSports team to leave the VCT Masters Copenhagen tournament, the first to go was XERXIA Esports due to their loss to the Japanese eSports team NORTHEPTION, according to Game News 24.

The two teams battled against each other on the maps Split and Haven, with XERXIA taking the win on the Split map with a score of 13-9, while NORTHEPTION took the win on the Haven map with an 11-10 score.

The winner was decided in the final match, which was held on the Bind map.

Although NORTHEPTION initially took the first few rounds, XERXIA managed to take the lead with a score of 11-10. However, NORTHEPTION, like OpTic, managed to claw their way to victory with a final score of 15-13, per a separate Dot Esports article.

What's Next?

NORTHEPTION is not out of the woods yet. The Japanese esports team will soon face FunPlus Phoenix in the decider match tomorrow to see who moves on to the tournament's playoff bracket. This match will take place on July 13, at 11AM ET.
