Season 3 Will Give a Shocking Resolution to Season's Two Cliffhanger

You're in for a new adventure as the crew of USS Cerritos are challenged in "hilarious" ways they could never imagine. According to Paramount+, there will be a shocking resolution for season two's epic cliffhanger last October.

The challenge "may or may not have something to do with the consequences of stealing the ship," according to Engadget.

Residing in the "lower decks" of the USS Cerritos are the Starfleet crew Ensign Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome; Ensign Brad Boimler, voiced by Jack Quaid; Ensign Tendi, voiced by Noël Wells; and Ensign Rutherford, voiced by Eugene Cordero.

Meanwhile, comprising the USS Cerritos' bridge crew are Captain Carol Freeman, voiced by Dawnn Lewis; Commander Jack Ransom, voiced by Jerry O'Connell; and Doctor T'Ana, voiced by Gillian Vigman.

Season three of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" delighted its fans. However, Trekkers who are fans of live-action shows will have to wait for some time, since "Star Trek: Picard and Discovery" aren't expected to arrive until 2023.

Created by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan ("Rick and Morty", "Solar Opposites"), the series is produced by CBS' Eye Animation Productions, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment.

Alex Kurtzman, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz, Aaron Baiers, and Heather Kadin serve as executive producers alongside McMahan.

According to Star Trek, the Emmy Award-winning independent animation production company, Titmouse ("Big Mouth"), serves as the animation studio for "Star Trek: Lower Decks."

'Star Trek: Lower Decks' Highlights Adventures of Lower Deckers

"Star Trek: Lower Decks" is an American adult animated television series. It is the ninth "Star Trek" series.

The series was launched in 2020 as part of executive producer Kurtzman's expanded "Star Trek" Universe. "Star Trek: Lower Decks" is the franchise's first animated series since the 1970s series "Star Trek: The Animated Series." It is also the first comedic series.

Beginning in the year 2380, the series follows the low-ranking support crew of the starship Cerritos.

The series is set in the late 24th century in the "Star Trek" universe. In "Star Trek: Lower Decks," Earth is part of the multi-species United Federation of Planets.

Starfleet, the Federation's military and exploration division, operates a fleet of starships. The fleets travel the galaxy to establish contact with alien races. The series is centered on one of Starfleet's least important starships, the USS Cerritos.

Unlike previous Star Trek series, whose lead characters are typically starship captains or other senior officers, "Star Trek: Lower Decks" focuses on the missions and adventures of the "lower deckers."

The "lower deckers" are low-ranking officers with menial jobs. On the other hand, the captain and other senior staff appear as supporting characters in the series.
