Nokia recently announced that it will start pushing out the "Lumia Amber" update for its range of WP8 devices this week. We recently reported that the update would hit the Lumia 920 first and would be rolled out in August.
The Amber update was originally slated to release in July and bring several Nokia-specific app additions, including the Smart Camera app which debuted with the Lumia 925, to its portfolio of WP8 smartphones. Moreover, the Lumia 920, Lumia 925 and Lumia 928 will all get Nokia's Pro Camera app which is found on the recently launched on the Lumia 1020. This app lets users adjust shutter speed and exposure settings such as ISO.
The Amber update also brings the Nokia Glance Screen app (barring the Lumia 520 and 625). This app features a clock on the lock-screen and lets users double-tap to wake up the device. Moreover, the update also brings the flip-to-silence feature which mutes incoming calls when flipping the handset.
According to Nokia's recent announcement, the Amber update will first make its way to the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 models in "selected countries, along with Lumia 521, Lumia 810 and Lumia 928 in the US."
The update time will vary depending on the region, phone model and carrier, but the update is expected to reach all Lumia models by end September.
