Verizon customers won't have to wait much longer to get their hands on the HTC One. The carrier announced it will begin selling the HTC One on August 22.
Verizon customers have faced a long wait in getting the HTC One, which has been available on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile for a couple of months already. While the carrier initially said it would not offer the HTC One, it eventually gave in to customer pressure and announced that it would launch the smartphone sometime this summer. After multiple speculated launch dates and delays, the carrier has now officially announced pricing details and the release date for the HTC One.
Verizon will begin offering the HTC One online and in retail stores starting on August 22. The carrier will offer the handset at a similar price point as the other carriers, charging $199.99 for the smartphone when signing a new 2-year contract.
The HTC One features an anodized aluminum unibody enclosure and sports a 4.7-inch SuperLCD 3 Full HD (1080p) display that is also scratch-resistant. The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs Android 4.1.2 and HTC Sense 5.0 with BlinkFeed. It includes 32GB or internal storage and has 2GB of RAM.
Its camera capabilities include an HTC UltraPixel rear camera with HTC Zoe support and dedicated HTC ImageChip, 88 wide-angle lens with HDR capability, as well as 1080p video recording on both its front and rear cameras. Users will love the sound they hear from the smartphone's dual front stereo speakers with HTC BoomSound, which also includes built-in amplifiers with Beats Audio. In terms of wireless connectivity, the HTC One includes a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and GPS. The handset also comes with an infrared universal remote control with program guide and a 2,300mAh battery.
If you're a Verizon customer and have been eagerly waiting to get your hands on one of the best smartphones to be released this year, you'll finally be able to purchase it on August 22 for $199.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.
