The trailer for The Last of Us PS5 remake released by Sony showed off the upgraded aesthetics and fascinating gameplay tweaks.
Sony Released a Trailer of The Last of Us PS5 Remake
The directors of The Last of Us Part 1 discussed some of the enhancements in the PlayStation 5 version of the venerable game in a ten-minute clip Sony published on Thursday (July 21). Naughty Dog promises enhanced AI for adversaries and partners, new gaming modes, and audio explanations for cutscenes.
The trailer offers plenty of opportunities to showcase the improved graphics, but the most exciting changes involve changes to the gameplay.
The Last of Us' AI wasn't outstanding in 2013. The remake looks to incorporate the sophisticated technology used to handle NPCs in The Last of Us Part 2, allowing them to collaborate better and formulate plans beyond "walk straight towards the person with the shotgun."
Neil Druckmann, creative director of both Last of Us games, believes this intensifies the battle. The AI of your companions has also been enhanced, which should eliminate scenarios where Ellie or Henry run in front of an opponent who then has to pretend they didn't see them.
For those who want to try their hand at surviving a zombie apocalypse, the remake's permadeath mode will reportedly be included. There is also a speed run option, although the trailer provides very little information about it other than that a timer will be shown in the top right corner.
The game will purportedly have better haptics that will make it seem like you're caressing a giraffe in one scenario. Naughty Dog discusses what it's doing with the PS5's adaptive triggers. Its character animation has also been revamped. If you're interested, see the remake.

The Last of Us and Uncharted Co-Director Bruce Straley Will Oversee Wildflower Interactive
The Last of Us and Uncharted game co-director Bruce Straley has stated that he is leading a brand-new firm named Wildflower Interactive. Nearly five years have passed since we learned what Straley has been up to. After taking a year off after finishing Uncharted 4, he announced unexpectedly in September 2017 that he was quitting Naughty Dog, but he's returning with a new outlook.
According to Straley's tweet and the studio's official website, Wildflower Interactive will have an experienced workforce. The development team at the studio includes former Pathless, Abzu, Kena, Astroneer, and Call of Duty team members.
"Good people, making good stuff" is the studio's motto. In an interview, Straley claimed that he felt forced to release Uncharted 4 and that it needed to be good so it wouldn't tarnish the Naughty Dog label.
Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann finished the game in two years, which burned him out. In 2017 he quit the business "not sure whether he wanted to produce games anymore," he said.
As a response, Wildflower Interactive plans to transform the crunch culture in game development. It will also "make small-ish,' creatively-charged, uniquely-styled games." It has an unknown partner that "will assist the studio in reaching the biggest audience possible."
Wildflower Interactive needs a COO/Studio Manager, Audio Designer, Environment/Technical Artist, and Character Modeler. Despite the California-based developer, all roles are remote.
