The gameplay of the nine-foot-tall vampire lady from Resident Evil Village is as great as the gaming community thought it would be.
Capcom recently released a new trailer for the Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village, which featured content from the upcoming Winters' Expansion DLC and gameplay from the characters that would be added in its Mercenaries mode.
Capcom previously revealed that characters would be added to the game's Mercenaries Mode during its summer showcase, per IGN.
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition Trailer Breakdown
Capcom recently released a new trailer for Resident Evil Village on its official Twitter account that focuses exclusively on the game's Mercenaries Mode. It featured a handful of unique gameplay elements from the three characters added to the mode through the Winters' Expansion DLC, which are long-term protagonist Chris Redfield and two of Mother Miranda's "children," Karl Heisenberg and the nine-foot-tall vampire lady herself, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu.
Chris Redfield's gameplay is quite the same as his time as a playable character in the main game. He could be seen using the same weapons he has during the game's events, such as the Dragoon assault rifle and the Target Locator.
However, unlike in the base game, Redfield has an Onslaught gauge that he can fill up by eliminating hostiles and/or punching them like a boulder, per Game Press.
When Redfield's Onslaught gauge is active, his attack power, movement speed, and reload time is faster than normal, per the game's official website.
Meanwhile, Karl Heisenberg's gameplay mainly focuses on heavy attacks from his gigantic ax, which could be electrically charged using his ability to manipulate magnetic currents.
In addition to his ax, Heisenberg can pull enemies in with his magnetic field to deal damage up-close or throw metal objects their way at lethal speeds.
Finally, Heisenberg can summon his Soldat Jets to aid him in his fight. Unfortunately, the Soldat Jets can also damage Heisenberg if he is caught in their assault.
Last but not least is Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, whose gameplay focuses more on slashing using her claws and building her Thrill meter.
As Lady Dimitrescu's Thrill meter builds up, she can enjoy increased attack power and a bonus in her other stats. Once it is charged enough, Lady Dimitrescu can slam enemies down in a similar manner to what she did to Ethan Winters and throw furniture at enemies, dealing damage to enemies within an area. She will also gain the ability to deal explosive damage at a distance through her smoking pipe.
Should her Thrill meter be fully charged, Lady Dimitrescu will be able to summon her three daughters along with the insect swarms they come with to deal damage to enemies on her behalf.
Resident Evil Village Gold Edition Release Date
Capcom mentioned on the game's official website that Resident Evil Village Gold Edition would be available to both last-gen and next-gen consoles, the PC and Google Stadia.
The Gold Edition will come with the Winters' Expansion DLC, which not only adds Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu to the game's Mercenaries Mode, but also add the Shadows of Rose story DLC, a third-person camera for players to use.
The "Trauma Pack" digital add-on content is also included in the Gold Edition.
