Daedalic Entertainment Delays Release Date of 'Gollum'
The message on the official Twitter account of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum did not reveal when the studio is planning to release the game, but it promised to deliver it in the future.
The tweet expressed Daedalic Entertainment's gratitude to the community for their patience and support.
"We are dedicated to meeting our community's expectations and uncovering the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors the vision of J.R.R. Tolkien," the tweet said.
Daedalic Entertainment then said that in order deliver the best possible experience to gamers, the studio decided to push the release date of the game.
This is not the first time that Daedalic Entertainment postpone the release of the game. The studio first announced Gollum in 2019 with a 2021 release date, according to Polygon.
However, the studio eventually decided to move the game back to 2022 at the beginning of last year. In May, it announced the previous September 1's debut.
The game was set in the early chapters of "The Fellowship of the Ring." The game was billed as a "cinematic stealth adventure." The game will navigate the part of the narrative that focuses on Gollum's dual personalities.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be based on the original books instead of the movie trilogy. Players are expected to engage with Gollum's other half, Sméagol, who will sometimes take charge on the decision-making process.
When the game debut, players can play it on PlayStation 4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Developers Wants to Truly Live Up to the Community's Expectation
The title itself, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, stirs excitement as it will put the the players in the footsteps of Gollum, a character who is hardly explored in the story.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure video game that narrates the titular character's story prior to the event of "The Lord of the Rings."
Sportskeeda said that the game was being pushed back for at least a few months because of the developers' wish "to truly live up to the community's expectations."
With the recent events, it is not clear if we can expect the game to be available in 2023. This will not be surprising, given that the announcement mentioned "a few months" pushed back and its already the second half of the year.
Delayed in the debut of video games is a bittersweet moment for players. First, it means waiting further before they are able to play and experience the game.
On the other hand, it means they will able to play a much fuller and more polished version of the game as the developers will have more time to improve it.
